How Investests syndication works.
Syndication turns a single evaluation into a group investment. One investor leads: they decide how much is being raised, on what terms, and who gets invited. Everyone else pledges against that number.
The process, step by step
- 01The lead opens a syndicateAny investor who owns a completed evaluation can lead. Open the Syndicate / co-invest panel on the evaluation and create the syndicate.
- 02Set the raise amountUse the raise the founder asked for in the pitch, or set your own number if you think the round should be larger or smaller. Add a minimum check if you want to keep the cap table tidy.
- 03Choose the deal structureAccept the structure proposed in the pitch — priced equity, SAFE, convertible note, revenue share, venture debt or secondary — or pick the one you think fits. If it isn't settled, leave it as 'not established yet' and let investors suggest.
- 04The lead commits firstPut your own number in. A lead commitment on the board is the single strongest signal to everyone you invite.
- 05Invite investorsSelect members of Investests, add outside contacts by email, or both. Members see the deal immediately; outside contacts get an invitation to join and then see it.
- 06Collect pledges and responsesInvited investors reply interested, need more info, or not interested, and can pledge an amount against your target. Where the structure is open, they can suggest one — their suggestions are tallied for you.
- 07Track progress to targetThe panel shows committed versus target with a live progress bar and every pledge by name. Questions run alongside in the deal discussion room.
- 08The lead closes it outWhen the number is there, close the syndicate to new commitments and take the round through paperwork and funding off-platform. Investests tracks the intent and the conversation; the legal close stays yours.

Lead closes the syndicate ──► paperwork & funding off-platformWho can do what
- The lead — sets and edits the target, minimum check, deal type and terms, invites investors, and closes the syndicate.
- Invited investors — pledge an amount, suggest a deal type, leave a note for the lead, update or withdraw their pledge while the syndicate is open.
- Everyone in the deal — sees the progress bar, the pledge list, and the deal discussion room.
A few practical notes
- Pledges are commitments of intent, not transfers of money. Investests does not hold or move funds.
- Outside contacts must create an account before they can see the evaluation — the invitation link walks them through it.
- Closing the syndicate stops new pledges but keeps the record and the discussion visible to everyone involved.
