Running a deal discussion room.
Every completed evaluation has one discussion room. It is shared by you and every investor the deal has been shared with, so questions get asked once and answered once — instead of scattering across private messages.
Who is in the room
- The owner of the evaluation.
- Every investor the evaluation has been shared with.
- Anyone invited into a syndicate on the deal, once they have an account. Nobody else can read a single line.
The room header lists everyone present along with where they stand — awaiting, viewed, interested, needs more information, or not interested — so you always know who you are talking to.
Opening the room
Use the gold Open discussion room button at the top of the evaluation page or the shared view. The badge on the button shows how many messages are waiting.
What to post
- A short opening note. Why you like the deal and what you would like others to check.
- Answers from the founder. Paste them in rather than forwarding them privately.
- Diligence findings. Customer calls, reference checks, technical reviews.
- Documents. Attach updated decks, data room links and term sheets to the thread.
- Decisions. When the terms or the timing change, say so in the room.
Keeping it useful
- Reply to questions the same day where you can — momentum is the whole point of a room.
- Summarise long side conversations back into the thread so late joiners can catch up.
- Post the outcome, even when it is a pass. It builds trust for the next deal.
Limits and privacy
- Messages and attachments are private to the participants and are not visible to the founder.
- There is a fair-use cap of 60 messages per person per day on a single room.
- Removing a share removes that investor's access to the room.
